Thomas M. Susman, a partner in the Corporate General Department of Ropes & Gray, has been recognized as an "Outstanding Healthcare Antitrust Lawyer" for 2007 by Nightingale’s Healthcare News. The publication selected Tom for his work on behalf of Southcoast Physician Network on clinical integration and his counsel to a hospital system concerning the potential acquisition of another hospital. Tom provides ongoing advice to numerous hospital clients regarding contracting, coordination, joint ventures and physician relationships.

Tom handles legislative matters on behalf of both large and small clients – businesses, trade associations, and nonprofit organizations – in a variety of industries. He has been active in seeking enactment of legislation, obtaining appropriations for specific projects, blocking or amending legislative proposals, and counseling targets of congressional investigations.
