Eighty Ropes & Gray attorneys recognized in latest volume of Chambers USA

(Boston, June 13, 2008) The 2008 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, the prestigious directory of American lawyers and law firms, recognizes 80 individual Ropes & Gray attorneys and also cites 30 various practice areas as among the country's best. This marks the firm’s most impressive showing in the directory.
Thirteen of the 30 practice-area rankings were in the publication’s top band, including leading national practice areas like private equity, intellectual property, life sciences, health care, M&A, tax, and mutual and hedge funds. Three practice areas were also ranked nationally for the first time, including Banking & Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions and Tax.
The 80 individual rankings represent a nearly 30 percent increase over the previous year’s tally. Of the 80 rankings, 25 are in the top band, and another 28 are in the second band.
Chambers and Partners, based in London, began as general book publishers in 1969. Since 1990, they have published the Chambers Guide to the UK legal profession. Chambers’ staff of full-time researchers now prepares renowned directories which assess and rank the world’s leading lawyers according to their reputations amongst peers and clients. The USA Guide was first introduced in 2003. The fifth annual Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business is based on in-depth interviews with leading private practice attorneys and key in-house counsel.
