Ropes & Gray is pleased to announce 11 new partners.

Michael Beauvais focuses in the life science and health care practice areas, representing public and private companies, investment banks and venture capital firms in connection with financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, as well as a wide range of securities law compliance and governance issues.

Christopher Comeau focuses on representing financial investors and public companies in connection with public and private merger and acquisition and minority investment transactions and counseling public and private companies in connection with securities, disclosure, corporate governance and other matters.

Christopher Green focuses his practice in the areas of securities and corporate litigation, investment management and financial services litigation, and complex insurance litigation. Chris has extensive experience representing private equity and financial services firms and their directors and officers in complex business litigation, including securities fraud class actions, corporate governance matters, actions seeking emergency relief, and other complex civil litigation.

David Halstead focuses his practice on the biotechnology, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. David is experienced in delivering the full range of intellectual property services to clients, from universities and research institutes to start-up and established companies.

Marc Lazar represents a wide range of commercial real estate clients, including institutional investors, private equity firms, hedge funds, developers, lenders, owners, landlords and tenants in connection with the acquisition, financing (debt and equity), development, management, leasing and disposition of commercial real estate and in connection with workouts and foreclosures.

Michael Lee focuses on debt financings and private equity transactions and regularly advises on high yield bond issuances and syndicated credit facilities, venture capital transactions and other general corporate matters.

Carl Marcellino focuses on the representation of private equity funds and their portfolio companies in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and other general corporate matters.  

Jane Rogers focuses in private equity, debt financing, mergers and acquisitions and other general corporate matters. She regularly represents lenders, borrowers and financial sponsors in a variety of debt financing transactions, including syndicated credit facilities, high-yield debt offerings, and subordinated debt and mezzanine financings. She also has represented companies in merger and acquisition transactions, issuers in public and private offerings of securities, and venture capital investors and early-stage companies in preferred stock and other financing transactions.

Joel Wattenbarger represents investment management clients, focusing primarily on hedge funds, funds of funds, and fund managers.  He has extensive experience advising clients on the establishment of funds and fund management companies, trading and other operational issues, and compliance issues faced by registered investment advisers.  Joel also has considerable experience representing institutional investors in private investment funds.

Peter Welsh concentrates his practice on the areas of corporate governance, director and officer representation, securities litigation and government enforcement.  He has significant experience in representing mutual funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, corporations and individuals in complex securities and corporate litigation matters, including the representation of the directors and officers of several public companies in securities class actions and breach of fiduciary duty actions.
