The 2009 edition of Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business, includes 17 individual rankings of Ropes & Gray attorneys, a 41 percent jump from the 2008 guide. The prestigious directory of the world's leading lawyers and law firms also includes nine rankings of various Ropes & Gray practice areas.

For the first time, the Chambers Global guide ranked Ropes & Gray's Banking & Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions and Hedge Fund practices. Likewise, six Ropes & Gray partners were ranked individually for the first time. Several individual attorneys and practice areas were listed in Chambers' "Band One," its top tier of rankings.

Chambers and Partners, based in London, began as general book publishers in 1969. Since 1990, they have published the Chambers Guide to the UK legal profession. Chambers’ staff of full-time researchers now prepares renowned directories which assess and rank the world’s leading lawyers according to their reputations amongst peers and clients.
