Michael F. Sexton is a partner in the firm's Health Care Group and Life Sciences Group.
Professional Experience
Michael represents academic medical centers, hospital systems, pharmacy benefit managers, and managed care organizations on a variety of health care regulatory and business matters. Michael also advises pharmaceutical manufacturers, medical device companies, biotechnology companies, and life sciences venture capital firms in connection with licensing and collaboration agreements, venture capital financings, regulatory advice, and general corporate matters.
Representative clients include AstraZeneca, Biogen, Daughters of Charity Health System, Express Scripts, Johnson & Johnson, RiverVest Venture Partners, Salient Surgical Technologies, Verax Biomedical, Wyeth and Yale University.
On behalf of Ropes & Gray, Michael served for extended periods of time as an on-site attorney at Stanford University and Yale University, assisting the general counsel of each institution with medical school and hospital matters.
Michael is a frequent speaker on health care and life sciences issues, such as Medicare Part D, PBMs, and biotech licensing and collaboration agreements.
