William J. Hewitt joined Ropes & Gray as a Partner in 2003 in the combination with Reboul, MacMurray, Hewitt & Maynard and retired in December 2009. He was a corporate financial lawyer, focusing on private equity and mergers and acquisitions.

Bill represented several private investment funds in their fund formation activities and represented public and private issuers, including portfolio companies of funds, and financial institutions in merger and acquisition transactions.
