Carrie Simons is as an associate practicing in the Tax and Benefits Group. She originally joined Ropes & Gray in 2005 and practiced in the Tax and Benefits Group until 2009. Carrie rejoined Ropes & Gray in 2012.
From July 2009 to July 2010, Carrie served as legislation counsel on the Joint Committee on Taxation, where she provided technical assistance to Members of Congress and their staffs in developing tax legislative proposals related to employee benefits, particularly with respect to qualified and nonqualified deferred compensation plans, health and welfare plans, and executive compensation.
From July 2010 to December 2011, Carrie was an attorney advisor in the Office of Tax Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she worked to develop regulations and other guidance dealing with executive compensation, employee welfare plans, and health care benefits, including regulations and guidance under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
