Ninety Ropes & Gray attorneys recognized in latest volume of Chambers USA

The 2009 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, the prestigious directory of American lawyers and law firms, recognizes 90 individual Ropes & Gray attorneys in 108 separate rankings. The new guide, released June 12, also cites 34 various practice areas as among the country's best. This marks Ropes & Gray's most impressive showing in the directory.
Thirteen of the 34 practice-area rankings were in the publication’s top band, including leading national practice areas like private equity, intellectual property, life sciences, health care, M&A, and tax, among others. Of the 90 rankings, 25 are in the top band, and another 31 are in the second band. The 80 individual rankings represent a 12.5 percent increase over the previous year’s tally.
Chambers and Partners, based in London, began as general book publishers in 1969. Since 1990, they have published the Chambers Guide to the UK legal profession. Chambers’ staff of full-time researchers now prepares renowned directories which assess and rank the world’s leading lawyers according to their reputations amongst peers and clients. The USA Guide was first introduced in 2003. The sixth annual Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business is based on in-depth interviews with leading private practice attorneys and key in-house counsel.
