Practice
Chris Klem is a member of the firm's Corporate Department. His practice includes representation of major investment advisors, insurance companies, broker-dealers, endowments and hedge funds in their investment business as well as representation of financial services concerns in merger and acquisition transactions. He is also head of the firm's Universities and Colleges Practice Group and advises leading universities on a broad range of financial and other matters.
Professional Experience
Chris's work has included the structuring of innovative products, ventures and transactions in the investment and financial services area, including derivative instruments, acquisition structures, investment funds and mechanisms for funding distribution costs. He has also represented specially structured public companies, including a major investment advisory holding company organized as a publicly traded partnership, and public venture capital funds.
Professional & Civic Activities
Chris is the former chair of the Insurance Regulation Committee of the ABA's Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice and has served as a director of venture-stage corporations, conservation organizations and educational institutions. He is also the former Commissioner of the Lincoln Conservation Commission and active with educational institutions and foundations and also with various conservation activities.
