Practice
Chris Leich, a partner in Ropes & Gray's Tax & Benefits Department, focuses on corporate and partnership income taxation. Chris has been actively involved with a broad range of business tax issues, from structuring the initial operations of start-up enterprises to advising mature public companies on major tax matters. A substantial part of his practice is devoted to private equity sponsors and investors, including Bain Capital, Silver Lake Partners, Berkshire Partners, Weston Presidio Capital, and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
Professional Experience
Chris regularly advises a number of major private investment fund sponsors, and has extensive experience in structuring private equity funds, hedge funds, CBO funds, and funds of funds. He regularly advises on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, and spin-offs, as well as public offerings of equity and debt securities.
