David Chapin is a member of the firm’s Policy Committee and is the Strategic Development Partner at Ropes & Gray. David focuses on private equity transactions and in mergers and acquisitions involving public companies. David has broad experience representing clients in a wide variety of financial and strategic transactions.
Professional Experience
David regularly represents Berkshire Partners, Thomas H. Lee, and Weston Presidio,as well as represents a number of other private equity funds. Recent transactions include the acquisitions of Clear Channel Communications, Dunkin' Donuts, West Corporation, Michael's Stores, and Amscan. David also represented the unsuccessful bidders in the auctions for Hertz, Neiman Marcus, PanAmSat, and other entities. David also represents special committees in change of control and related transactions.
