Deborah Kantar Gardner joined Ropes & Gray in 2005. Deborah's practice focuses on Medicare and Medicaid payment and compliance issues as well as administrative and judicial litigation in connection with Medicare Part A appeals.

Professional Experience

Deborah regularly advises hospitals and health systems on Medicare and Medicaid payment issues, including coverage, claims and billing requirements, and Medicare classification status, and on Medicare and TRICARE compliance matters, the Medicaid drug rebate program, compliance with the fraud and abuse laws as well as on the health insurance privacy and security laws. Deborah has been involved in several federal and state government investigations involving Medicaid and/or Medicare payment issues. Deborah also assists in corporate transactions involving hospitals and health care systems and litigates Medicare appeals both at the Provider Reimbursement Review Board, the Department Appeals Board, and in the federal courts. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Deborah practiced in the litigation and health care group of a large Boston law firm.
