Practice

Deborah Monson, a partner in Ropes & Gray's Corporate Department, focuses her practice on private investment funds, investment management, and derivatives law.

Professional Experience

Deborah represents U.S. and offshore private investment funds, fund sponsors, investment advisers, fund administrators, futures and securities brokerage firms and institutional investors, with an emphasis on counseling clients on product design, fund formation, securities offerings, marketing, and negotiations and documentation with service providers and counterparties. She advises on operating, regulatory and compliance issues, as well as a broad range of general corporate and business matters. Providing advice to institutional investors, Deborah concentrates on representing state, church, and corporate benefit plans in reviewing and negotiating the terms of their investments in private equity, real estate, hedge and infrastructure funds.
