Eric Hubbard is a partner in Ropes & Gray's Intellectual Property Group. His practice focuses on all aspects of patent litigation and licensing.
Professional Experience
Eric joined Ropes and Gray in 2005 when it merged with Fish & Neave, the IP boutique where he had been a partner since 1997. Eric concentrates on patent litigation and licensing involving semiconductor processing, flat panel displays, biotechnology, medical devices, engineered materials, industrial chemical processing, automotive electronics and engine control, and business methods. Some of his exemplary cases include ETG v. GN Resound et al., (Civil Action No. 05-422 D. Del.); Orion IP, LLP v. Ford Motor Co. et al. (Civil Action No. 5:04-CV-313 ED Tex.); British Telecommunications v. Verizon et al. (Civil Action Nos. 03-526-28 D. Del.); Plasma Physics v. IBM et al., (Civil Action Nos. 02-3463, 3475, 3484 E.D.N.Y.); Fulhorst v. Mazda Motor Corp. et al., (Civil Action No. 2-02-CV-42 E.D. Tex.); Applied Materials v. Plasma Physics, (Civil Action No. 00-2199 E.D.N.Y.); Plasma Physics v. Fujitsu et al. (Civil Action No. 99-8593); Biogen v. Amgen, (Civil Action No. 95-10496 D. Mass.); Allied Signal v. Allegheny Ludlum, 29 USPQ2d 1039 (D. Conn. 1993); Fulhorst v. Ford Motor Co. et al., (Civil Action No. 96-577 D. Del.). Eric's experience in trademark and copyright cases includes Pernod Ricard USA LLC v. Bacardi USA Inc. (Civil Action No. 06-505-SLR), Cubaexport v. OFAC (Civil Action No. 06-1692 D.O.C.) and NBA v. Motorola, 105 F.3d 841 (2d Cir. 1997).
