Geoffrey Chan is a leading China focused investment funds lawyer with significant experience structuring and forming Chinese offshore USD funds and domestic RMB private investment funds. He has represented a variety of investment advisors and fund sponsors throughout Asia in fund formation and other related internal funds issues. In addition, Mr. Chan has vast experience structuring and forming private equity funds, RMB funds, hedge funds, parallel funds, employee investment funds and other alternative investment vehicles.
Prior to joining Ropes & Gray in 2011, Mr. Chan was counsel at O’Melveny & Myers in Beijing. In addition, he was an associate at Simpson Thacher in New York and Hong Kong. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Chan was a corporate finance investment banker with Merrill Lynch in Asia.
