Jim DeGraw is a partner in Ropes & Gray's Corporate Department, located in Tokyo, Japan. Before relocating to Tokyo, Jim spent 14 years in Ropes & Gray's Boston office.
Professional Experience
Representing investors, operating companies, and institutional clients, Jim typically works with clients to structure strategic acquisitions, divest businesses, fund ventures, form strategic relationships, outsource primary business functions, and maximize the potential of their assets.
In addition, Jim has significant experience in Ropes & Gray's Litigation Department. He has handled a variety of complex white collar, insurance, securities, contract, patent, and technology matters. He also was part of the team representing State Street in the groundbreaking State Street Bank and Trust v. Signature Financial Group, Inc. business method patent case.
