Practice
Richard P. Ward became a partner at Ropes & Gray in 1977, and retired on December 31, 2007.
Rick focused his practice on advising and representing hospitals and other healthcare providers with respect to fraud and abuse issues and reimbursement issues, including the defense of civil actions under the False Claims Act, OIG investigations, Department of Justice investigations into health care fraud and reimbursement appeals to the PRRB. He provided advice and counsel to compliance officers in connection with governmental and internal investigations, the development of compliance plans and policies and the obligation to disclose or repay overpayments.
