Sarah counsels institutional and independent sponsors around the globe on the most advantageous ways to form, structure and re-organize hedge funds, private equity funds and real estate funds. She also regularly advises these clients on matters affecting their ongoing operations, including how best to structure compensation and related profit-sharing arrangements, and how to stay ahead of ongoing regulatory and compliance matters.

Representative Clients and Matters

Sarah has represented some of the largest and well-known alternative investment managers, including: CCMP; Equinox; Hamilton Lane; Karsch Capital; Ramius Alternative Solutions; UBS Global Asset Management and UBS Wealth Management Americas, among many others. A cross section of Sarah’s recent innovative and significant matters includes:
  • Spinouts of teams from significant alternative asset management firms;
  • Designing and implementing a hedge fund replication program;
  • Advising long/short equity managers regarding expert network policies;
  • Structuring and launching an open-end real estate fund of funds designed for certain non-U.S. investors and providing advice related to investments made by such fund;
  • Re-structuring equity ownership across two management companies, several general partners and multiple carry vehicles of an alternative asset manager; and
  • Designing more than fifteen aggregation vehicles to allow U.S. high net worth clients of an institutional sponsor to invest in large and well-known hedge funds, real estate funds and private equity funds.
