Sasha consistently achieves exemplary results in complex patent litigations for top technology companies. She has established a track record of success in the courtroom during her more than 15 years of experience. Because of her strong technical background in physics, Sasha is adept at quickly mastering a broad array of technologies and trying these cases to a successful resolution. Sasha also works closely with her clients to provide critical strategic advice and manage cases to ensure that their expectations are exceeded in every aspect of representation. 

Representative Clients and Matters

  • Eolas v. Adobe et al.: Represented defendants Google Inc. and YouTube, LLC in securing victory in a case brought by Eolas Technologies Inc. on two patents that it contended cover all web sites containing interactive content.  After a four-day invalidity trial involving multiple defendants, an Eastern District of Texas jury returned a verdict that all asserted claims of both patents are invalid.
  • Transmeta Corp. v. Intel Corp.: Represented Transmeta in a patent infringement lawsuit involving microprocessor technology. Case settled favorably for $250 million, which was one of the top patent damage settlements in 2007. 
  • Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. v. Tessera Technologies, Inc.: Represented Tessera in a seven-day jury trial on breach of contract and patent issues relating to Tessera's semiconductor packaging technology. Case settled favorably during trial before jury verdict. 
  • Compaq Computer Corp. v. eMachines: Represented Compaq in patent infringement action asserting computer systems patents. Obtained summary judgment of infringement of nine patents relating to personal computer subsystems. Obtained permanent injunction before trial against further infringement of two patents. Damages claim was in excess of $200 million before trebling. Case settled favorably through mediation two weeks before trial. 
  • Lucent v. Periphonics: Represented Lucent in patent infringement action asserting patents regarding interactive voice technology. Case settled favorably through mediation after the Markman hearing. 
  • Purdue Pharma Products L.P. v. Par Pharmaceuticals: Represented Purdue Pharma and associated companies in a Hatch-Waxman patent infringement lawsuit involving controlled-release tramadol.
  • Bausch and Lomb v. Alcon Laboratories: Represented Alcon in defending against patent infringement action relating to contact lens care solutions and enzymatic cleaners. Case settled favorably on the eve of trial.


Professional & Civic Activities

Sasha frequently writes on patent litigation and patent law issues, and lectures on these issues as a member on numerous Bar Association panels. 

Sasha also has an active pro bono practice where, as lead counsel, she has successfully represented asylum seekers, abuse victims and tried contractual disputes.
