Shreevardhan (Shree) Sinha joined Ropes & Gray's Corporate Department in 2009 from a large Indian firm where he was a partner since 2006 and served as a member on the firm's management and compensation committees.
Professional Experience
Shree's practice areas include general corporate matters with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and private equity. Shree is also a member of the International Practice Group at Ropes & Gray.
Shree has developed effective legal and business strategies in the context of mergers and acquisitions in India, and has also advised on risk management, litigation avoidance and corporate governance. His practice encompasses a broad range of corporate transactional work with a focus on cross-border as well as domestic mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity investments, financing transactions and offshore bond issues. Shree has experience in a wide variety of industries including infrastructure, real estate, biotechnology, healthcare, manufacturing, media, advertising, telecommunications and hospitality, and he has handled acquisitions and divestitures in competitive auctions as well as non-auction contexts. His clients have included international as well as Indian private equity funds, global multilateral organizations, governments, multinational corporations, and Indian companies.
In addition to his extensive India experience, Shree also has significant experience in advising on cross-border transactions in several other parts of Asia, including Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates, and he has worked closely with leading counsel in several foreign countries.
Professional & Civic Activities
Shree is the current co-chair of the Foreign Lawyers Committee of the Boston Bar Association. Shree has also been a member of the board of directors of a publicly-owned manufacturing company in India and, while at the Boston University School of Law, an honorary member of the board of advisors of the Morin Center for Banking and Financial Law.
Shree has been a speaker and panel member at programs and seminars sponsored by the Boston Bar Association as well as the North American South Asian Bar Association.
