Steve Perlman was Labor & Employment partner from 1979 until his retirement in 2008. Throughout his career, Steve had extensive experience in labor and employment law, including collective bargaining, labor arbitration, and employment discrimination matters.
Professional Experience
Steve provided labor/employment services to health care clients and negotiated more than 250 collective bargaining agreements on behalf of employers, including "re-engineering" and "system mobility" agreements for multi-hospital institutions, including Berkshire Health System, Southcoast Hospitals Group, Hallmark Health System, and Cape Cod Healthcare. Steve represented Holy Cross Hospital, Ft. Lauderdale, in a successful decertification campaign involving a union that represented 500 nurses.
Steve was also involved, both directly and indirectly, in the successful defense of hundreds of individual and class claims of employment discrimination before state and federal agencies. He has been a gubernatorial appointee to the Advisory Board to the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
