Yang Xu joined Ropes & Gray in 2009 as a technical advisor in the Intellectual Property Group.

Professional Experience

Yang received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the Scripps Research Institute in 2007. In Professor Kim D. Janda’s laboratory, Yang's work focused on antibody-catalyzed destruction of methamphetamine. She also developed a small-molecule library strategy for the disruption of protein-protein interactions. Following graduate school, Yang worked as a synthetic medicinal chemist at BioFocus DPI, a Galapagos company, where her research focused on development of new treatments for HIV-associated dementia and rheumatoid arthritis.
