Amanda F. Austin
Amanda Austin joined Ropes & Gray in 2005 and practices in the corporate department. She is a member of the life sciences group, where her practice primarily focuses on the representation of public and private companies in the life sciences industry, including advising clients in the negotiation of strategic licensing transactions and commercial partnerships, research and development collaboration agreements, mergers and acquisitions and supply and manufacturing arrangements.
- Represented Pfizer, Stryker and other leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies in connection with multiple licensing, collaboration, co-promotion, distribution and manufacturing relationships.
- Represented Hutchison MediPharma in a joint venture with Nestle Health Science to research, develop, manufacture and market nutritional products derived from botanical plant origins.
- Represented Acceleron Pharma, Inc. in a joint development and commercialization agreement with Celgene Corporation for a protein therapeutic, under which Celgene will make an upfront payment to Acceleron of $25 million plus future royalties and up to $217 million in milestones.
- Represented FORMA Therapeutics, Inc. in a drug discovery collaboration with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. under which FORMA and Janssen will collaborate on drug discovery efforts with payments that included an upfront payment and up to $700 million of downstream payments.
