Partha Pal

Partner

Partha Pal joined Ropes & Gray as a partner in the firm’s finance practice group in April 2015. He specializes in banking and structured transactions, related restructurings, regulation and dispute resolution.

Partha Pal is highly experienced in complex cross-border transactions having practiced in London, New York and Singapore. He is also involved in the work of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council and recently served as co-chair of its Hedging Sub Committee.

  • KKR Credit on the acquisition and subsequent securitisation of non-performing loan portfolios in Spain
  • THRE on a €130 million plus financing of commercial real estate assets in Belgium
  • Solutus Advisors as special servicer in privately placed Brunel commercial mortgage bond offering
  • A total-return strategy hedge fund on secondary investments in the Mint, Hercules, Eagle and Chestnut NPL portfolios
  • The sponsor of the borrowers on the restructuring of a £240 million loan which is included in a commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS) transaction
  • The Class A Note investor and a private equity sponsor on the acquisition of a €35 million asset secured by a loan which is included in a CMBS transaction and the restructuring of the loan
  • Acting for the sponsor of the borrowers on a €130 million plus financing of commercial real estate assets in Belgium
  • Acting for the sponsor of the borrowers on the restructuring of a £240 million loan which is included in a commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS) transaction

Notable transactions in which Partha has been involved prior to joining the firm include:

  • Acting for a major Belgian Bank in creating a capital markets financing platform for financing loans to sub sovereign borrowers in Belgium for the purposes of funding social infrastructure investment
  • Acting for one of Europe's largest retailers in a structured financing of loans originated by its financing subsidiary and designed to rationalise its financing arrangements
  • Acting for a major international real estate investor in acquiring a US$1 billion plus portfolio of real estate related investments
  • Acting for an international real estate private equity investor in a proposed restructuring of a securitised financing backed by an iconic City of London property
  • Acting for the lead managers in the first and second statutory covered bond issuances by the Korea Housing Finance Corporation
  • Acting for a major Chinese Bank in providing an export financing facility to an international telecommunications company
