International Organization for Standardisation Releases Draft Standard for Anti-Bribery Management Systems

1 March 2016

The International Organization for Standardisation has released a draft of ISO 37001 which addresses anti-bribery management systems.

Interestingly, the contents for ISO 37001 indicate that it will be heavily focused on meeting the adequate procedures test in the Bribery Act 2010. The six principles in the Ministry of Justice’s guidance on the Bribery Act each have a chapter in ISO 37001.

ISO 37001 will also be certified and audited unlike current standards on compliance management such as ISO 19600.

A final draft of ISO 37001 is expected at the end of 2016.

The current draft can be reviewed here.
