Preparatory Committee Publishes 18th Draft Rules of Procedure

The Preparatory Committee of the UPC published the 18th Draft Rules of Procedure.  Johannes Karcher, coordinator of the Legal Framework working group, and Kevin Mooney, Chair of the Drafting Committee presented the 18th Draft Rules at the July 10th, 2015 meeting of the UPC Preparatory Committee.  While not drastically dissimilar from the 17th Draft Rules, the latest draft provides more details on opt-outs, actions before the Central Division, Reply to Statement of Defense, security for legal costs, and applications for legal aid. The Preparatory Committee has the opportunity to make additional changes until the Rules are adopted in the Fall of 2015.
