Marijane Benner Browne

Marijane Benner Browne heads the firm’s global lateral partner and counsel recruiting function and works with the firm’s administrative departments to ensure the smooth integration of new lateral partners and counsel into the firm. Working on a daily basis with the firm’s Managing Partner, she also works closely with other Policy Committee members, practice group leaders and office managing partners and reports to the chief human resources officer. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Marijane led global lateral partner recruiting and integration at Goodwin Procter for five years. A graduate of the Harvard Law School, where she was an editor of the Harvard Law Review, and of Bowdoin College, Marijane was a practicing lawyer for 19 years before joining Goodwin Procter, primarily at Bingham McCutchen, where she was a partner in the finance group and served as national hiring partner. She also co-headed that firm’s associate development efforts, co-chaired its pro bono program and helped drive its diversity efforts.
