Matt Byron focuses his practice on representing public and private companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments in a broad range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, technology, consumer products, financial services, and retail. Matt’s experience also includes representing companies and financial sponsors in all manner of corporate transactions, including venture capital and minority investments, leveraged buy-outs and day-to-day corporate counsel.

  • Represented Samsonite in its acquisition of eBags, Inc. for $105 million
  • Represented AMAG Pharmaceuticals in its licensing transaction with Palatin Technologies
  • Represented a medical device company in connection with its divestiture of a business unit
  • Represented Planet Fitness in its sale to TSG Consumer Partners; currently represent Planet Fitness on day-to-day corporate matters
  • Represented Celgene in its investment and partnership with an early-stage pharmaceutical company
  • Represented EMCOR Group in its $455 million acquisition of RepCon Strickland, a provider of refinery and petrochemical services
  • Represented Sparta Systems, an enterprise quality management business, in its sale to Thoma Bravo
  • Represented Vaxin, Inc. in its acquisition of Immune Targeting Systems
