Sara E. Berinhout

Sara Berinhout focuses her practice on white collar defense and related complex commercial litigation. She has represented clients in every stage of litigation, including drafting complaints and dispositive motions, discovery, and preparing for depositions and trial. Sara maintains an active pro bono practice, including representation of numerous asylum applicants in immigration court. In 2021, she clerked for the Honorable James C. Ho in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Prior to joining the firm, Sara graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she was senior editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy, a Criminal Justice Policy Student Fellow, and Women’s Law Association Affinity Group Leader. She also spent six months working as a student prosecutor in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office, where she second-seated three jury trials and personally conducted one jury and one bench trial.
Before law school, Sara spent three years teaching English in Moscow, Russia. During that time, she traveled abroad extensively and founded and operated a charitable non-profit organization in Romania to provide impoverished rural communities with winter clothing, blankets, and school supplies. Sara graduated magna cum laude from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in International Affairs.
