Tina Chao is an associate in the asset management group. Tina focuses on advising fund managers on the formation, structuring, operation and regulatory compliance of private funds. Tina has experience representing a variety of sponsors, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, credit funds, and co-investment funds, ranging in size from $25 million to over $20 billion dollars, in both primary fundraises and secondary transactions.

During law school, Tina served as articles editor and outreach editor for the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology and as a research assistant to Professor Urs Gasser with respect to digital privacy policy and regulation. Prior to law school, Tina conducted policy research as an intern for a leading think tank in Washington, D.C., concentrating on federal and commercial cybersecurity, privacy and surveillance issues, telecommunications policy and internet governance.
