Weiyang (Sarah) Chen
Sarah Chen is an associate in the corporate group. Sarah graduated from Columbia Law School as a James Kent Scholar and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
During law school, Sarah completed an externship for Hon. Debra Ann Livingston at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, served as a teaching fellow for Professor Robert Jackson’s Corporations class, and performed as a research assistant for Professor Benjamin Liebman. Sarah served as a public affairs editor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law, a board member of the Columbia Society of International Law, and a board member of the Public Interest Law Foundation.
- Represented Silver Lake in its acquisition of a majority stake in Weld North Education, a leading digital education technology company focused on developing digital curriculum and tools for preK-12th grade.
- Advised Harbin Pharmaceutical Group Holding Co., Ltd, a leading pharmaceutical company in China, in a strategic investment of approximately $300 million in GNC Holdings, Inc.
- Represented the lead underwriters in the $450 million convertible notes offering for Insmed Incorporated, a biopharmaceutical company that focuses on the development and commercialization of therapies for patients with rare diseases.
