Tonbara joined the asset management group of Ropes & Gray in 2021. Prior to joining the firm, Tonbara was an associate in the London and New York offices of another international law firm. 

Tonbara has extensive experience advising institutional investors on making and structuring private equity, credit, infrastructure and real estate fund investments across a broad range of jurisdictions, with emphasis on advice to foreign clients with investments in the United States and advice to U.S. clients with foreign operations. 

Tonbara's practice focuses on fund formation for emerging and established fund sponsors, and providing advice to institutional investors on fund investments.
