Betsy heads the firm’s practice development team, which includes professionals embedded in and supporting the firm’s practice groups and offices, as well as the central event planning and management organization. The practice development team helps the firm’s partners with strategic planning, business development, marketing, lateral partner integration, knowledge management and associate training. The team also provides local support for marketing and business development activities in Asia.
In addition to her practice development role, Betsy helps develop and implement other initiatives to support firm strategy, including practice group planning and individual partner planning. Betsy is a member of the firm's staff senior leadership team and reports to the chief operating officer.
Before joining Ropes & Gray, Betsy was a litigation associate for over seven years at another national law firm, where her practice focused on business and securities litigation matters. Prior to law school, Betsy spent three years in the financial services industry, working in the Investment Banking Group at Prudential Securities Incorporated and later in the Equity Research Department at Credit Suisse First Boston.
