Ruben Godinez joined Ropes & Gray’s corporate department in 2019 after graduating from NYU School of Law. Ruben has worked with private equity clients, investors and other financial institutions in various transaction real estate matters, including joint ventures for real estate investments and acquisitions, collateralized loan obligations with underlying commercial real estate assets, and other repurchase facilities. Ruben has also assisted various private company clients in multiple acquisitions. Along with his corporate work, Ruben maintains a thorough immigration-focused pro bono practice. He assists pro bono clients in U-Visa, Withholding of Removal, DACA and employment authorization proceedings.
While in law school, Ruben was a member of LALSA and the Environmental Law Association. As a 2L, in connection with NYU’s Immigrant Rights Clinic, he served as a legal clerk for Immigrant Justice Corps where he helped clients in asylum seeking proceedings.
