Hilary Hess joined Ropes & Gray’s litigation department in 2017. She represents clients in connection with government and internal investigations, enforcement matters, and data breach litigation. Hilary has experience advising major international companies on their privacy and data security governance programs, including on matters relating to breach notification laws, state data security laws, and self-regulatory frameworks.
Hilary maintains an active pro bono practice, working with clients on their asylum matters, contract disputes, and First Amendment claims.
During law school, Hilary externed at the California Supreme Court for Associate Justice Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar.
