Brendan Kearney

Associate

Brendan Kearney joined Ropes & Gray in 2019 as an associate in the Litigation & Enforcement practice group. Before joining the firm, Brendan clerked for the Honorable George L. Russell III of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

During law school, Brendan served as an executive articles editor for the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law & Policy and competed as a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution team, including at the Vis East arbitration moot in Hong Kong. Brendan represented tenants through the D.C. Law Students in Court clinic and interned in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. Brendan also advised fellow students as a Peer Advisor, Public Interest Fellow, and mentor in the Business Law Scholars program.

Before law school, Brendan reported on Baltimore’s state and federal courts for The Daily Record and on business and technology in Charleston, S.C. for The Post and Courier. He also taught and mentored high-school students at the Harlem Children’s Zone.
