Gregg Larson is counsel in Ropes & Gray’s tax practice, based in New York. Gregg focuses his practice on all tax aspects of real estate transactions.
He has provided tax advice to legal and business teams on real estate transactions, including acquisitions and due diligence, dispositions (stock and real property), restructurings, joint ventures and real estate funds to evaluate and implement tax planning opportunities and to identify and manage tax risks.
He has significant experience with REITs (single asset and portfolios) and has advised on the formation and on-going qualification requirements for operating and development office and multi-family REITs. He also has experience advising during the entire life cycle of a real estate fund/joint venture – from structuring for sponsor and investor tax considerations (including U.S. and non-U.S. individuals, corporations, governments, tax-exempts and pensions funds), entity formations, portfolio acquisitions, financings, operations and dispositions.
Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Gregg served as a managing director of tax at Tishman Speyer Properties, a global real estate investment company, and previously practiced at another international law firm.
