Daniel Langley helps asset managers navigate the formation, fundraising and ongoing operation of a broad range of private investment funds. Danny has counseled sponsors across an array of alternative asset classes, including private equity, real estate, credit, hedge and cryptocurrencies and other digital assets.

Additionally, Danny regularly advises clients on the structuring and negotiation of private fund secondaries and other bespoke liquidity solutions. His experience also includes structuring and negotiating seed and strategic investments and advising managers and institutional investors on co-investment vehicles, “funds of one,” managed accounts and other strategic relationships.

Prior to joining Ropes & Gray in 2021, Danny practiced in the investment management group of another international law firm, representing various domestic and international investment managers.

Experience

  • Represented preeminent fund sponsor in formation of mid-market credit fund
  • Represented private equity sponsor in formation and offering of infrastructure fund, separately managed accounts and continuation funds
  • Represented global alternative investment platform in structuring platform funds making a variety of underlying private fund investments
  • Represented leading private equity manager in formation of flagship multi-strategy fund, focused on private equity, non-performing loans and other distressed debt*
