Megan is an associate in Ropes & Gray's litigation and enforcement practice group. Megan’s practice includes commercial and civil litigation, government investigations, and advising clients on anti-corruption and compliance issues. She has assisted in representing leading health care organizations, private equity firms, and Fortune 500 companies. Megan also maintains a wide-ranging pro bono practice.
While in law school, Megan served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Edmond E. Chang in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Megan was the managing online editor of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, a member of Moot Court Society, and a senior advisor in Northwestern’s Academic and Professional Excellence program. Megan also represented indigent defendants through Northwestern’s Center on Wrongful Convictions.
Prior to law school, Megan was the director of marketing and communications for a national rare disease patient advocacy group.
Experience
- Assisted global medical device company in investigating whistleblower allegations of FCPA violations in Asia and Europe, assessing compliance controls, and liaising with DOJ and SEC.
- Defending a major pharmacy company in cases alleging common-law fraud and violations of several states’ consumer-protection statutes.
- Worked with a global medical device manufacturer to conduct conducting internal investigations based on commercial practices across multiple geographies and advising on related compliance and control risks.
- Conducted pre-acquisition anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, and export controls compliance due diligence for global private equity clients and their portfolio companies.
- Secured asylum for a woman and her daughters seeking protection from gang violence in El Salvador.
