Areas of Practice

Yoni Levy is an asset management partner resident in Ropes & Gray’s Boston office. He regularly advises private equity and other private fund clients on a variety of matters. Yoni has experience advising fund sponsors with respect to the formation, offering and operation of private investment funds, and also regularly represents institutional investors (including endowments, pension funds, funds of funds, private foundations and family offices) in investing in private investment funds. Yoni has experience working with growth and buyout funds, credit funds, energy funds, funds of funds, co-investment funds, venture capital funds and secondary funds, and his clients range from emerging managers developing their organizations and raising their initial investment funds to global asset managers operating worldwide in multiple asset classes.

A significant part of Yoni’s practice is focused on asset management-related transactions, including co-investments, structured secondary transactions, recapitalization transactions, management transitions, sponsor restructurings and “spinoffs” of investment teams from a larger organization, among others. Yoni’s asset management and transactional skills combine in these transactions to facilitate creative problem-solving, assist clients in actualizing theoretical constructs, and provide flexible analysis of the governance and economic considerations in a proposed transaction.
