Ioana Moldovan is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s litigation and enforcement practice group. Ioana’s practice includes government and internal investigations, complex civil litigation, and restructuring disputes. She advises clients on a wide range of antitrust matters, including transaction risk, agency advocacy, and compliance with government information and document requests. Ioana works with clients in an array of industries, including pharmaceutical and medical devices, health care, technology, and higher education.

During law school, Ioana interned with the Appellate Division of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and with the Appeals Division of the Criminal Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. She also served as a student advocate with the Community Enterprise Project of the Transactional Law Clinics at Harvard Law School. Prior to law school, Ioana worked in official publishing and in the nonprofit sector.

  • Assisted clients with internal investigations into whistleblower reports of possible FCPA, securities laws, and employment law violations. 
  • Participated in defense of pharmaceutical companies in False Claims Act / Anti-Kickback Statute government enforcement actions. 
  • Part of team that represented technology company in connection with FTC investigation and litigation relating to proposed merger. 
  • Part of team that represented the independent director of Basic Energy Services, Inc. in connection with their investigation and analysis of estate causes of action as part of Basic’s chapter 11 cases, involving more than $400 million of funded debt. 
  • Part of team that represented the Special Committee of the Board of Directors of Centric Brands, Inc. in connection with its investigation of potential claims belonging to the estate.
