J. William McAllister
William joined Ropes & Gray in 2015 as an associate in the corporate department and member of the firm’s investment management group. William’s practice focuses on representing registered investment companies, including open-end and closed-end funds, their independent directors, as well as investment advisers, on a variety of regulatory, transactional and compliance matters. He regularly counsels clients on matters concerning the formation, registration, reorganization and operation of retail and institutional investment products that arise under U.S. federal securities laws, particularly the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. William also regularly counsels the independent directors of registered investment companies on fiduciary duties and corporate governance matters.
