Matthew C. Micklavzina
Matt is an associate in the corporate department and a member of the firm’s asset management group. His practice focuses on representing registered investment companies and investment advisers in regulatory, transactional and compliance matters. He advises clients on the creation, registration and operation of new and existing investment products, including interval funds, tender offer funds and ETFs, that employ a variety of investment strategies, such as alternative investments, digital assets, marketplace lending, private real estate and registered funds of private equity funds. Matt also has experience with the creation of special purpose acquisition company sponsors and with representing institutional investors in connection with private fund investments.
Matt maintains an active corporate pro bono practice, where he advises on impact investing, ESG and responsible investing initiatives.
Prior to joining the firm, Matt worked in the legal department of a large foreign financial institution’s corporate and investment banking group, where he focused on compliance issues related to the regulation of uncleared swaps. During law school, Matt was a member of the American Journal of Law and Medicine and served as an intern at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and the Massachusetts Division of Insurance.
