Michelle Nelson joined Ropes & Gray's corporate department in 2021.
During law school, Michelle worked on cannabis compliance and regulatory matters at KushCo Holdings, including the regulation of cannabis packaging and labeling in legal states. Michelle also served as the publicity chair for the Public Interest Law Fund, vice president of Law Students for Sensible Drug Policy, and research assistant to Professor Robert Solomon, co-chair of the UCI Center for the Study of Cannabis.
Prior to law school, she worked at the California Department of Public Health in the Manufactured Cannabis Safety Branch where she assisted in the development of cannabis regulations, business education, and directed the Packaging and Labeling Committee.
