Luke Riley is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s litigation and enforcement practice group. His practice includes complex commercial and securities litigation in federal and state courts, as well as arbitration. Luke has experience in all stages of litigation, including drafting complaints and dispositive motions, fact and expert depositions, mediation, trial prep, and appeals. Luke also maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing individual and non-profit clients in housing and property disputes and related litigation.

Luke returned to Ropes & Gray in 2020 after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence E. Kahn of the United Stated District Court for the Northern District of New York. Prior to law school, Luke worked as an analyst for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office.

  • Represented global biotechnology company in federal litigation regarding licensing agreement and Hatch-Waxman safe harbor. 
  • Pro bono: represented non-profit in litigation and mediation concerning theft of historical artifacts. 
  • Pro bono: represented same-sex parents in Box v. Henderson in certiorari briefing before U.S. Supreme Court.
