Sharon Remmer
Counsel
Sharon Remmer joined Ropes & Gray in 1998 and is counsel in the employee benefits department. Sharon advises both tax-exempt and for-profit clients with respect to the drafting and administration of their retirement and other benefit plans.
Sharon advises clients on a wide range of employee benefit plan issues, spanning from day-to-day plan administration questions to complex compliance issues and filings under the IRS’ voluntary correction program. Sharon regularly advises plan sponsors regarding their fiduciary responsibilities under ERISA, and has made numerous presentations to clients regarding plan compliance issues and best practices. Sharon works with many hospitals and universities on employee benefits matters that are unique to tax-exempt institutions, including issues relating to 403(b), 457(b), and 457(f) plans.
