Patrick Smith joined Ropes & Gray's private capital transactions group in 2020. He received a J.D. from the Howard University School of Law, cum laude, in 2020. Patrick earned a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky.
During law school, Patrick interned at the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, where he assisted prosecutors in the Asset Forfeiture Division. Patrick also worked as an Honors Intern for the Securities & Exchange Commission in the Division of Corporation Finance specifically dealing with mergers & acquisitions. Patrick served as the editor-in-chief of the Howard Law Journal, the principal scholarly publication of the Howard University School of Law. He also was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, the Business Law Association, and the Sports and Entertainment Law Students Association.
