Rae Hui Shee

Associate

Rae Hui Shee joined Ropes & Gray in 2015 as an associate in the private investment funds group. She had previously been an associate in the private investment funds group of a Magic Circle firm. Rae has experience in the structuring, marketing, establishment and maintenance of various private funds. She has also advised several prestigious institutional investors in relation to their proposed investments in private funds. Rae also has experience with carry and co-investment arrangements.

Experience

  • Acting for a UK credit fund manager on its targeted 1 billion subordinated debt fund, its targeted €400 million comingled senior debt fund, and numerous joint venture funds
  • Acting for a UK credit fund manager on its targeted 500 million credit fund and certain carry arrangements
  • Acting for Nordic Capital on the formation of Nordic Capital IX (4.3 billion) 
  • Acting for one of the world’s largest asset managers on its US$630 million private equity fund
  • Acting for a global real estate investment firm on its targeted 1 billion real estate fund
  • Acting for a Mauritius-based fund manager on its targeted US$250 million agriculture fund
  • Acting for numerous institutional investors in relation to their proposed investments in various private funds

  • A global investment manager on its targeted £500 million infrastructure debt fund

  • A UK private equity and infrastructure fund manager in relation to its £200 million infrastructure fund and certain carry arrangements
  • A leading global bank, a prestigious sovereign wealth fund and an international financial services company in relation to each of their proposed investments in various private funds
  • One of the largest global life insurance companies and a UK private equity and infrastructure fund manager in relation to various separate accounts
  • A UK private equity and infrastructure fund manager in relation to certain co-investment arrangements
