Rory Skowron first joined Ropes & Gray's litigation and enforcement practice group in 2021. He represents clients in commercial and administrative litigation, internal investigations, and various pro bono matters. He recently returned to the firm after clerking for the Honorable Raymond Gruender of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in St. Louis, Missouri. 

During law school, Rory served as executive articles editor of the Boston College Law Review and worked as a teaching assistant and research aide for multiple professors. He also interned for judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

  • Defended public technology company in AAA commercial arbitration involving $100 million claim for earnout payments
  • Represented private company in dispute with federal agency concerning alleged Clean Air Act violations 
  • Represented public company in litigation with governmental entity concerning remediation of asbestos-containing material 
  • Conducted internal investigation for private equity client regarding the adequacy of anti-money laundering controls
  • Co-authored amicus brief in support of prisoner held in solitary confinement in appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit
