Shennel Sanyaolu is an associate in the litigation and enforcement practice group. During law school, Shennel worked as a student honors intern in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Reggie B. Walton in the District Court for the District of Columbia. Shennel also interned in-house at a multinational e-commerce corporation prior to joining the firm. In law school, Shennel served as an editor for the Howard Human and Civil Rights Law Review and as a research assistant to Professor Josephine Ross.

- Represents private equity firm and an employee in SEC and Department of Justice inquiry concerning alleged insider trading.
- Assist information technology company with response to an SEC subpoena in connection with the trading of securities at the time of a merger.
Government Investigations
- Represents a global pharmaceutical company in connection with its response to FTC civil investigation demand.
- Represents a global pharmaceutical company in connection with its response to subpoena from state attorney general.
- Assisted with internal investigation on behalf of a global pharmaceutical company following whistleblower allegations of violations of U.S. law.
Civil Litigation
- Represents a non-profit medical organization in cases in federal and state court alleging employment discrimination on the basis of race, sex, national origin, and age.
- Represented universities and non-profit institutions regarding allegations of faculty misconduct.
Commercial Litigation
- Represented aluminum manufacturer in contractual dispute concerning liability allocation under a purchase agreement.
Pro Bono
- Represents individual in wrongful conviction matter following grant of petition for writ of actual innocence based on DNA evidence undermining homicide convictions and life sentences from trials in 1981 and 1983.
